Ode to my Manuscript(s)
No Elizabeth Barrett Browning am I,
but here's my little ode to thy
lovely form and pleasing words
that read like the twitter of happy birds!
Of course, it wasn't all this way.
There was a time, I have to say,
when, as I wrote, revised and re-read,
words and thoughts muddled in my head,
until, tragically, and with a sigh
I felt I could either kill - or die!
"How I do love thee, I thought;
more, no doubt, than I ought -
the rest of my life is just a sham
It's all YOU ... as illustrated by Dr. Cham!"
Note: "How do I love thee, let me count the ways" is the first line of a famous sonnet written by Elizabeth Browning.
P.S. No doubt, I'll probably say the same thing about my thesis, but that's still in its outline stage. So, first things first!
