Kids Do The Darndest Things!
I just called Piglet up for our weekly conversation, and she was hard at work teaching my 5-year old nephew spelling for tomorrow's test at school. Our short conversation was punctuated with "Now, Z, spell 'banana'." and things like that. Then,
Piglet: Z, write the spelling of "little" two times, and say it out loud as you're writing it.
Z: L-L-I-I-T-T-T-T-L-...
Me: Pig, I'll call you in a bit, I HAVE to go blog NOW!!

i wonder what you would have done had u been the one to teach him... (im sure it wouldnt b such a trouble, since "haat saaf ho gaya hai" teaching me).. but i just hope u wont tell Z.. wait a bit i have to blog..
the number of crazy things he does.. i am sure this comment would win the guiness book of world record for being the longest ever comment on any blog..
the first day i saw Mr.Z write, some of the letters were written ulta.. (perfect mirror images of the original).. some times he did it unknowingly but at times it was intentional after which he smiles.. the typical snigger snigger.
after i told him it was a mirror image .. then showed him how a mirror image actually looks; after which he refused to write the actual letter...
then after every word he writes.. either we have to mimic various animals ;the most favourite being a frog... (and u must hear it.. its superb).
after every set of homework... is play time.. or better still colouring time. so i draw various things for him while he merely colours them.
the other day, he refused to spell the word "tail".. instead to found some long piece of cloth and tucked it in his pant... and showed it to me saying.. "see this is my tail.. i know"
yesterday i was asked to explain why jar & far were identical to pronounce... while "war" being a phonic word wasnt???
and the other day.. he had to write just 2 words... which took him an hour.. cuz after every letter was break time.
after every correct word he writes.. or every question he answers correctly, i say the word "perfect"... and if i dont... he screams perfect in my ear.. also refusing to continue studying.
he might sound like a little devil... but despite all his millions of antics, i just cant get angry with him...
my cute little devil

and our certain other nephew Mr.F came home to do homework one evening.. (infact he was the one to start the trend of our house being HW house)
he had to write 5 sentences on the monument or any other place of interest in mumbai(also draw it).
we began with a brain-storming session with him talking of monuments in mumbai.
this is exactly how it went:
"Gateway of India":
people can to boating ; people can click pictures ; people can sit in colourful horse carts.
(he couldnt think of any more)
"Aquarium"
there are many fishes ; i went with my mummy and some friends there.
finally after discussing zoo, boating club (irla).. we decided to settle down with Juhu beach.
this was easy.. we thought of around 10 sentences.. and used conjunctions to join the related ones..
but while writing these sentences... Mr.F gets brillant ideas...
F: but i can write better on Inorbit mall.. its such a nice place..so many games to play.. also nice food to eat,etc..
with great difficulty we got back to writing on "the Juhu Beach"
when after a while...
F: why can i not write on singapore.. its such a nice place.. i had gone with my mummy and pappa there.. there is this... and there is that.. and he went on..
simply refusing to believe that singapore is not in mumbai.
(finally Rat entered and we got back to completing our essay)
later in the day he also drew a picture of the beach.. sunset, sand castles, shells in the sand, a ball too... looked nice.
